Join us with Bayan Claremont for their 2015 Benefit Banquet. The theme of the program is "Remosque-ing America: Preparing Transformative Leaders for Our Communities." Hear from our visiting faculty Imam Suhaib Webb and Dr. Zareena Grewal, who will share insights regarding the "unmosqued" phenomenon in which many Muslims have expressed becoming dissatisfied with masjid environments and have therefore sought out alternative spaces to cultivate spiritual growth and community. MECA of Southern California
Founded in August 2005, MECA aims to build and strengthen the Muslim Community across Southern California. MECA's target demographic is post college age Muslims who are single, married, or married with young children.
We strive to strengthen our communal bonds through social, educational, arts, and outreach activities. Some of our key projects include a monthly gathering for all members (MECA Potluck), a support group for new Muslims (Coffee and Converts), community outreach and service activities (Food Pantry, Eid Toy Drive), outdoor sports (Hiking Club), and ongoing interfaith activities. MECA is what you make of it! We welcome your feedback and suggestions for future activities. We can always use volunteers, and it's a fun way to make new friends!

9 motorcycle riders from across the oceans came to Pakistan to explore the beautiful northern areas of Pakistan with Moin Khan. Starting from Islamabad they made their way up towards the China-Pakistan Border. They had a film crew with them to capture the spirit of this adventure. Join us for a viewing of the short documentary, followed by a discussion with Moin Khan, moderated by Nafeesa Andrabi, Pakistan trekker herself.
Please join us on January 29, 2015 at the Pasadena Public Library in Pasadena. Sponsored by Pakistan Arts Council of the USC Pacific Asia Museum.
